This Week's Reading: Exodus 18 - 20
Come Follow Me Insight #1

Three months after coming out of Egypt (Exodus 19) God spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai and told him to tell the Israelites that He wanted them to be “a kingdom of priests.” (Exodus 19:6)
Not, “just the Levites will be priests” but ALL of the Israelite tribes could be priests.
This means they had the potential to receive the full temple blessings and could become another city like the City of Enoch.
Next week we’ll see how far the Israelites feel from this potential in just a short amount of time.
Come Follow Me Insight #2
If you watched The Ten Commandments growing up, the scriptural record of Exodus can be confusing.
In Exodus 20 Moses receives the ten commandments but they aren’t written down anywhere. So where are the tablets with the commandments written on them?
These tablets were received later (we’ll read about it next week) when Moses was alone with the Lord on Mt. Sinai.

Here’s a fun tidbit for you!
Moses and the ancient Israelites likely never used the phrase “the ten commandments.”
The Hebrew word דָּבָר (or dabar) that we translate as commandments is actually directly translated as “words.”
So the ten commandments would have been “the ten words.” Fitting for laws coming from Jesus Christ – “the Word.” (Source 1 and Source 2)
