Was Jesus walking on ice rather than on water?

Scientists recently tried to explain the miracle of Jesus and Peter walking on water by saying they were walking on ice. (Source)

It’s common for people to try to explain away miracles because they don’t make sense to us. They seem to defy science! But Brigham Young explained,

“. . . what we call miracles are no more than this — they are the results or effects of causes hidden from our understandings.” – Brigham Young (Source)

In other words, miracles are simply science that we don’t yet understand.

Come Follow Me Insight #2

Multiplying of loaves and fishes

How many people were fed by the five loaves and two fishes? The scriptures say that there were 5,000 men besides women and children. This means the apostles may have had to feed anywhere from 10,000 to 20,000 people.(Source)

Regarding HOW Jesus could take so little food and multiply it to feed possibly tens of thousands, here is what Brigham Young had to say: “Our religion will not clash with or contradict the facts of science in any particular. . .  God never made something out of nothing; it is not in the economy or law by which the worlds were, are, or will exist.” – Brigham Young (Source)
