Issue of blood (Matthew 9:20-22)

What did it mean that the woman who touched Jesus’ hem had an “issue of blood.” When the scriptures explain how the woman was healed it says, “Ῥύσις αἷμα  ἵστημι”  (pronounced: Rhysis haima histēmi ) which literally means a flowing issue made to stand still(Source). So it seems she had a possibly female problem of constant bleeding that finally stopped.

Devils into swine (Mark 5:13)

When Jesus found a man possessed by devils, the evil spirits begged to be sent into the bodies of a nearby herd pigs. Somewhat surprisingly, Jesus honored the request.  The possessed herd of pigs (thousands of them) then rushed into the sea and were drowned.

How was this fair to the pig farmer?

It’s important to remember that the Law of Moses strictly forbade eating pork as pigs were considered unclean. So the fact that pigs were even being raised in the land of Israel (even if they were being sold to Gentiles) broke the Law of Moses.

Jesus therefore got rid of the evil spirits AND called the pig farmer to repentance at the same time. (Source)
