How do other Christians interpret 1 Peter 1:20 which says Jesus “was foreordained before the foundation of the world”? Doesn’t that indicate there was a premortal life?

From what I could find it seems that many Christians believe Christ existed before the world simply because He is God. They don’t believe this premortal existence included any average humans. 

Others interpret the word “foreordained” simply as “foreknown” meaning that God knew who Jesus would be, what He would do, and for what purpose. (Source 1, Source 2, Source 3)
