How do other Christian churches interpret the fact that Abraham paid a tithing of 10% (Hebrews 7:2)?

It seems that many Christians view the idea of tithing as part of the Mosaic law that was fulfilled by Jesus Christ. This belief stems from the fact that tithing is not listed as a requirement anywhere in the New Testament. Though Jesus mentions it in Matthew 23:23 many Christians believe that because this was pre-resurrection it is not part of the higher law. (Source 1, Source 2)

Even early Latter-day Saints did not pay a regular tithe. Though the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was established in 1830, tithing did not become an expected requirement of every member of the church until 1899. (Source)
