I LOVED the story that Elder Stevenson shared about a man named Jens in Denmark. Jens was enjoying a beautiful summer evening when he got the impression to change a burnt-out lightulb. Despite his wife calling to him to come for dinner he immediately left to get a new lighbulb. On his bike ride he saw a two year old boy fall into a pond and was able to save him because he was in the right place at the right time. No one else was around, and if Jens had not followed the strong prompting to change the lightbulb that young boy would likely have died. That small prompting and the small decision to follow it changed the little boy’s family’s life forever!
Elder Stevenson emphasize the simplicity of our gospel responsibilities. He narrowed it down to 4 things:
I hope it’s not wrong of me, but I think it can be simplified even more: do good, and be good on Christ’s covenant path. That’s really all we have to do!
Elder Stevenson emphasized that small good choices over time make a huge difference. We don’t need to try to “do it all” or do a complete overhaul of our lives right now. We just need to focus on make simple, good decisions every day.
