I was so impressed by how humble young Elder Sikahema was. After he had passed the sacrament water to a woman who had missed the bread because she was late, his home teacher took the opportunity to teach him the importance of “sequence” in God’s church. As I heard this I thought how impressive it was that Elder Sikahema took this as an opportunity to grow instead of taking offense!
Elder Sikahema mentioned that many Tongan missionaries have not been able to return home due to COVID restrictions and their missions have been extended. Some of them have been on their missions for three years!
Elder Sikahema shared the importance of the sequence in which the Angel Moroni introduced information to Joseph Smith. First, he taught Joseph about the nature of God; second, he taught him about the role of the Book of Mormon; then he taught him about Elijah and the gathering of Israel. What does that teach us? It’s a good pattern for our lives: first, we must understand who God is, then we are ready to be personally converted by the Book of Mormon, then we need to go out and help others find the gospel!
