3 Things to Know

The talk “The Need for a Church” by President Dallin H. Oaks

1. Something cool from President Oaks

LDS Temple President Nelson Announcement

President Oaks emphasized that being a member of organized religion is powerful– no matter what that religion is!  He emphasized that his definition of the word “church” included mosques and synagogues.  I loved this spirit of inclusion.

2. Something you might have missed

President Oaks pointed out that both of the times Jesus was on the earth (in Jerusalem and in the Americas) He took the time to organize His people into a church.  Elder Oaks pointed out that this is a testimony to us of the importance and power of organized religion.
